AI consultancy for businesses that make, move, build and serve

We help small and mid-sized firms in the physical economy find where time, money and data leak, then build the AI and automation that pays for itself. Any industry, from accountants to manufacturers, food brands to tree surgeons.

The physical economy is any business with a real product, site or visit behind the work. That work creates admin, data and messy handoffs between systems. That's where we look.

Where the time goes

Six signs of drag we see in almost every business, whatever it makes or sells. Each one matches a job AI is already good at.

Discovery & Diagnosis finds which of these are costing you most, with evidence, before you spend anything on tools.

Four steps, one at a time

Each step stands on its own. Nothing starts until you agree, and we will tell you plainly if the answer is “not now”.

Discovery & Diagnosis

We map how work actually moves through your business, from first enquiry to final invoice or report. We talk to the people who do the work, look at your systems and documents, and rank where time, money and data are lost. You get a written report with scored recommendations and a roadmap, or an honest “not now”.

More about Discovery & Diagnosis

What you get

  • A map of how work moves today, and where it gets stuck
  • Problems ranked by impact, with the evidence
  • Scored recommendations, a roadmap and rough costs
Time
2 to 3 weeks, agreed at kickoff
Price
From $1,999

Pilot Sprint

We take the top recommendation and build it for one team, process or site, inside the systems you already use. It usually runs alongside the old way first, so you can compare. We measure before and after, and a person signs off anything that matters.

More about Pilot Sprint

What you get

  • One working improvement, live with real work
  • A before and after readout
  • A short guide and training for your team
Time
A fixed 4 to 6 weeks
Price
Fixed price, agreed after step 1

Rollout

If the pilot earns its keep and you want more, we extend it to other teams, sites or processes and join it up with the next steps in the chain. Larger projects, such as connecting systems that don't talk or building a single view of your numbers, run in phases with a check before each one.

More about Rollout

What you get

  • The change running across the agreed teams and sites
  • Systems joined up where it pays
  • A plan for each phase, agreed before it starts
Time
Phased. Bigger projects run for several months
Price
Quoted per phase

Managed Optimisation

Each month we check the numbers we agreed, fix what drifts, keep things up to date as tools and AI models change, and rank the next small improvements. You get a short report and a plain recommendation to carry on, adjust or stop.

More about Managed Optimisation

What you get

  • A monthly check on the numbers
  • Fixes and updates as tools change
  • A ranked list of what to improve next

  • Every pain point ranked by impact, evidence and how easy it is to fix.
  • Each fix scored 1 to 5 on impact, feasibility, time to value and risk, so the order is clear.
  • A roadmap with rough costs, plus the things we would not do.

Forecasting and pre-orders for a supermarket chain

A full Discovery & Diagnosis. We traced the firm's data from first enquiry to final report, reviewed each system and how they connect, and ranked the problems by impact and evidence. Who we work with

Owner-led and growing businesses, usually 20 to 200 people, where the work has a physical side. Across all industries, in the UK, US and the wider English-speaking world.

  • Manufacturing and engineering
  • Construction, civils and property
  • Food, drink and FMCG
  • Logistics, wholesale and distribution
  • Field, facilities and home services
  • Professional services, from accountants to labs
  • Training and apprenticeship providers
  • Retail and e-commerce operations

You'll probably recognise one of these

  • Several systems that don't talk to each other
  • Growth that has outrun the office
  • One person holding it all together
  • A solid business that should be doing better
  • A new operations lead who wants a first win

If you already have your own data or AI team, we're probably not the right fit.

Not sure if you fit? A 30-minute call will tell you.

Rudy Parengal, founder of Abjak

“Running a business is half work you love and half work you hate. My job is to take away the part you hate.”

Most businesses I meet don't have an AI problem. They have a visibility problem: nobody can see the whole job from start to finish. So we start with the work, not the tool, and only build what earns its keep.

Rudy ParengalFounder and CEO, Abjak · Liverpool
What does an AI consultancy do for a small business?

We find the parts of your operation where AI and automation would save real time or money, prove one of them works, then help you roll it out and keep it working. At Abjak that starts with Discovery & Diagnosis, an AI audit of how your business actually runs.

What do you mean by the physical economy?

Businesses where there is a real product, site, delivery or visit behind the work: manufacturers, builders, wholesalers, food and drink brands, field service firms, labs, accountants handling piles of documents. That real-world work creates admin, data and handoffs between systems, which is where AI tends to pay.

What is an AI audit?

A structured look at how work moves through your business, where it drags, and which fixes are worth doing first. Ours ends in a written report with a process map, ranked findings, scored recommendations and a roadmap. It can also end with “not now”.

How much does an AI audit cost?

Discovery & Diagnosis is from $1,999 (USD) for one business, plus VAT where applicable. Multiple sites, larger teams or on-site visits cost more, and we tell you the price before any work starts.

Do we have to change our software?

No. Most of our recommendations work with the systems you already use. We only suggest replacing something if the evidence says it is holding you back, and we will tell you why.

How do you handle our data?

We ask for read-only access wherever possible, use your data only for the work you hired us for, and don't put your customer data into outside AI tools without your agreement. Anything customer-facing, financial or compliance-related keeps a person signing it off. See our Privacy notice.

Do you work outside the UK?

Yes. We work with businesses in the UK, the US and across the English-speaking world, mostly remotely. Prices are in US dollars, and the booking page shows UK time.

What results have Abjak clients seen?

Recent examples include over £10K a month saved on wastage and breakage for a supermarket chain, over £200K in savings identified for a geological laboratory firm, $40K of additional revenue and zero missed calls for a tree service franchise, over 15 hours a week saved for the directors of a civil engineering firm, and a double-digit efficiency improvement for an accountancy group. Clients are kept anonymous. See our work.

Is Steelcap the same as Abjak's consultancy?

No. Steelcap is our ready-made software for trades and field-service firms, sold by monthly subscription. The consultancy is for businesses that want their own operation looked at and the right fixes built. You don't need an audit to use Steelcap.
